When you are visiting Heraklion and look to the west you can see it. It’s Big and looks like a pyramid! It’s the Strouboulas mountain
Strouboulas is pyramid style 800m mountain west of the Heraklion city. From far looks very impressive like a pyramid. It takes a half hour to drive there from Heraklion and then another 45minutes to an hour to climb on top. It can be a little hard if you are not used to climb. But as a result, your reward is a panoramic view of the bay of Heraklion to the shores of Hersonissos, the Youchtas and Lassithi Madares.
Its just half hour from the center of Heraklion
Αs it falls the sun, you see the triangular shadow Strouboula to covers Heraklion and the peaks of Mylopotamos behind you is stained orange. Perfect moments for a photographer.

According to narrations, the Chapel of the Holy Cross was built by a wealthy resident of Fodele, the Theotoki. What is certain however is that the church was in this position from the Venetian period (although it was destroyed and rebuilt several times)
Anyway, I would love to visit again this place and to stay also for the blue hour. I am sure the city of Heraklion will be gorgeous and the dusk. I have to prepare lights and the family for the climbing they will love it.
Enjoy the following pictures as I do also!!
